Mantena is ready for Rail Passenger Service Tender 1: South!

After being awarded the first contract for Rail Passenger Service Tender 1: South, we are now ready for the start of the contract. Together with Go-Ahead, we will ensure a high-quality service on the long-distance rail service between Oslo and Stavanger, as well as the commuter rail service in Stavanger and Arendal, providing a reliable, safe and environmentally friendly means of transportation for customers in these areas.

New maintenance workshop

When Go-Ahead takes over traffic on the 15th December, Mantena will assume operation of the new workshop at Kvaleverg in Stavanger. This is where all local and regional trains covered by the agreement will be maintained. The brand-new facility will enable us to manage more trains than previously possible, as well as longer trains, more efficiently. Good train maintenance is vital for keeping trains on time and on track!

Extensive testing

At the end of November, a full-scale test of the facility was carried out. All stock and materials covered by the contract were controlled over a few days and a long list of partners and suppliers participated.

Go-Ahead took over the facility on 27th November and everything is in place for the start of the contract. We are looking forward to assuming the important role of keeping passenger rail vehicles efficiently and well maintained!
