After a long period of preparation and planning, the new Mantena workshop for Øresund trains was finally opened on 13th. December.
The workshop, located in Hässleholm, Scania, is the most modern train workshop in Sweden. Everything is in place for optimal maintenance and cleaning of trains, with 26,000 square meters spread over a total of five buildings that contain a workshop, office, cleaning system, subfloor lathe, combi hall and reception station with a cleaning platform.
Combined with state-of-the-art technology and equipment, the workshop’s central location in the Øresund train traffic system will ensure the smooth running of traffic.

In recent months, new train technicians, troubleshooters, team leaders, shifters, warehouse staff, planners and managers have been employed.Nearly one hundred Mantena employees are now in the final process of delivering one of the largest maintenance contracts for trains in the Nordic region. The contract is valid for eight years. The trains with the designation X31 included in the contract operate on the railway network from Copenhagen in Denmark to, among other places, Malmö and Kalmar in Sweden, an area with approximately 5 million inhabitants.
– We have been waiting for the opening for a long time. We are happy to finally be up and running and relieved that everything has gone as planned. The start of operations and traffic is a big day for Mantena, says Fredrik Hultgreen, head of Mantena’s mobilisation project.
