The IBM Maximo software provides a full overview of Mantena’s maintenance work. Now the license is extended by five new years – which gives even more opportunities.

For many years, Mantena has used IBM Maximo for asset management to have control and an overview of the business’s work. The system compiles all of Mantena’s maintenance work, including support processes such as stock management, purchasing and invoicing, and ensures that the work is done at the right time and by people with the right skills.

The platform also receives information from the operators to keep the trains on the rails.

IBM offers the system, while EY SKYE are Mantena’s Maximo consultants, as IBM’s business partner.

Will explore the possibilities
Mantena is now extending the Maximo license by five more years and entering into an even closer collaboration with IBM.

“A closer collaboration with IBM will give us the necessary understanding of what opportunities exist in Maximo, so that we can make better decisions about future technology and development”, says Ramnath Falch Ambathy, director of Mantena Technology.

Monica Bjelland, system owner for Maximo in Mantena, points out that the renewed Maximo license provides a long-term perspective on Mantena’s improvement and development work.

“It is important for Mantena to improve the use of Maximo in existing processes and adopt new functionality where it can support Mantena’s strategy.

Contributes to smarter maintenance work
Mantena is investing heavily in technology and digitization, which is important for developing condition-based and predictive maintenance and for offering consulting and technology services within maintenance development.

The Maximo platform can be a good tool to achieve this. IBM will support us in utilizing Maximo for Mantena’s best, so that we strengthen ourselves as a maintenance supplier”, says Ambathy.

Hans-Henrik Merckoll , Country General Manager at IBM Norway is looking forward to that.

We are proud to support Mantena as they continue implementing new technologies to provide modern maintenance services for the railway sector. Now, we are looking forward to an even closer collaboration as Mantena further digitizes their business with our IBM Maximo to stay on top of their asset performance and drive predictive maintenance,” says Merckoll.
