Mantena has won the maintenance contract for Mälardals traffic in Sweden on behalf of SJ AB. The assignment is for maintenance of the new double deck (Dosto) manufactured by Stadler.

The agreement between Mantena and SJ AB will start in 2019 with an option until December 2024.

– With this assignment we have regained about 2/3 of the train volume that we lost when we lost the contract for Pågatågen – says Bid Manager Fredrik Hultgren.

The maintenance includes 33 ER1s (Stadler Dosto – 4 car double decker) with the option of an additional eight option trains.

The daily maintenance will be carried out in a newly built workshop in Eskilstuna, which will be completed during the fall of 2018. Recruitment of personnel to the assignment will take place during the autumn for access in January 2019. The first vehicle will be delivered in the spring of 2019 where traffic planning is planned during the summer.

If the options are exercised and the agreement lasts until December 2024, the assignment means a volume of 10 million kilometers per year.
