society. With an ever increasing responsibility for the value chain, it is natural for us to focus heavily on recruitment in the future, in order to bring in new expertise and prepare ourselves for new tasks.
Our responsibility
We aim to be a leader in our work as a responsible business.
We strive for equal treatment of all employees, support workers’ rights and work to prevent all forms of financial crime or other misconduct. As part of this, channels for reporting
any misconduct have been made even more accessible both internally and externally. In this way, our employees should feel confident that they will be treated properly and that both they and other stakeholders can easily speak out if something is not as it should be.
Being responsible also means identifying and managing the risks that we as a company pose to people, society and the environment. In 2020, Mantena will focus heavily on HSE with the ambition of significantly reducing the number of injuries compared to previous years. Our employees should have a safe workplace from which they return home at the end of the day without having suffered any injuries or illness because of their
work. This is right for the individual employee, and also the most profitable way to behave.
While this annual report was being compiled, we were suddenly thrown into a completely new situation with the coronavirus pandemic. It is more important than ever for companies like ours to act responsibly and help to reduce the spread of infection. We are following up through internal risk reduction measures and ensuring that all employees in Mantena can follow guidelines and recommendations issued by authorities and professional bodies. At the same time, we are striving to maintain as normal operations as possible to avoid further problems for employees and customers. We stand together in this situation and will do all we can to help the community get through this in the best possible way.
Sincerely,
Kjetil Hovland CEO
