The company is run in accordance with the Norwegian Code
of Practice for Corporate Governance. The Group is working to incorporate processes for reporting wherever appropriate within this framework, including sustainability reporting.
The work of the Board
The Board has held 13 meetings. Shareholder-elected directors have the expertise relevant to the business and are independent.
In 2019, the Board’s hiring committee was active in recruiting a new CEO for Mantena AS. Apart from this, no Board committees were used in 2019.
HSE and traffic safety
Mantena puts safety first. Serious incidents were recorded in 2019 which, under other circumstances, could have had serious consequences. The cases have been followed up and dealt with according to the relevant procedures.
Systematic safe job analyses and risk analyses are carried out, which form the basis for the preventive work. 38 injuries were reported in 2019, compared to 40 the year before in Mantena AS. In 2019, 46 injuries were reported in the Mantena Group.
The working environment is considered good, with local working conditions and job satisfaction both stable.
Sickness absence in Mantena Group in 2019 was 7.0% (7.0% in 2018). In 2019, the sickness absence rate in Mantena AS was 7.6% (7.5% in 2018).
The H1 factor was measured at 11 in the Mantena Group
(12 in 2018). The H1 factor was measured at 11 in Mantena AS (12 in 2018).
The external environment
Mantena recognises that its business affects the environment. This is why continuous efforts are being made to improve the company’s environmental performance and cut pollution, by meeting its own requirements as well as regulatory requirements and standards.
No issues have been reported with the handling of hazardous waste.
No discharges into the environment were reported in 2019 (two minor discharges in 2018) in the Mantena Group and Mantena AS.
